6:30 pm - Hi!

Hi! I noticed that your're interested in goethe and I wanted to ask you a few questions about him, more spefically his Faust series. I wanted to read it a while back but was wondering if it was really heavy reading and if it was difficult to understand. I read a summary of the basic plot and thought it sounded interesting so I thought now might be a good time for me to get into it. Thanks!

PS: Also open to recommendations from the romantic era. Its just that I'm scared its gonna be too difficult for me, so some good beginning books would be nice. Thanks Again!

1:23 pm - ...

I'm starting this community out of pure curiosity.

I am a first year university student who has an interest in Romantic literature. I took a heavy reading course and have spent the year analyzing such Romantic texts as Goethe's The Sorrows of Young Werther", Stendhal's "Scarlet and Black", and Shelley's "Frankenstein". These have been truly inspiring books and have opened up a whole new career as a student for me. I plan to graduate with an honours degree in English and go on to do my MA and Phd. Currently, I would like to teach Romantic Literature as a professor.

As for now, I would love to spark some kind of discussion on this enchanting period of humanity's history.
